We have decided to move feedalizr out of Alpha release, into Beta. We made the decision because we are satisfied that the feature set is rich enough to warrant a Beta release, and because we have enough users (thanks to all of you!) to make it important that we give you a more “formal” version. You can continue to expect us to react quickly to your change requests and bug reports, and we promise to keep improving the feature set.
On to the good stuff….what’s new in feedalizr 2.0.0 Beta ???
Quite a bit, actually. First of all - we have support for FriendFeed rooms. Yes - you will now receive messages that have been sent to a room directly in feedalizr, and you can post directly to a room. Want a private conversation ? Now you can have it, on your desktop, courtesy of feedalizr. If you want to know more about rooms, visit FriendFeed for a full explanation.
This is what a post looks like when it has been posted to a room:

You will notice that when you click on the FriendFeed icon, to make a post to FriendFeed, there is a new dropdown list that shows all the rooms you can post to. If you want to make a public post, just post to “My feed”.
The other, really cool feature, is additional tab support. Want to see only Twitter messages in a tab ? Easy. Find any post that has been made to the service you want to isolate. In the post, hover your mouse pointer over the service icon. If you click the service icon, a new tab will open show all posts for that service. If you click the avatar, a tab will open showing all posts the specific user made to that service! The image below shows you how to do it.

We have extended Twitter support. You can now reply directly to a Twitter user by clicking the “direct” link below a twitter post. Of course, it has always been possible to send direct messages, but we’ve made it easier to do. The links are highlighted in the image.

We’ve made a couple of other small changes and improvements. You can always refer to the changelog for detailed information.
Let us know how the first feedalizr beta is working for you, and PLEASE send us your suggestions and requests. We are on twitter, too.
Thanks for the support everyone! The feedalizr team.

Version 1.1.4 brings a major new innovation to feedalizr, in the form of tabs. To see tabs in action, just click on the avatar of any of the friends you are subscribed to. A new tab will open, showing only the posts by that person. You can close the tab by clicking the close button on the tab, or by simply clicking on the tab with the middle button of your mouse (yes, we love Firefox).
Tabs provide an easy way to view the posts of an individual user, while still having access to the feeds from all your other friends in the same window. But more than that - tabs lets you see the 30 most recent posts for an individual user - this means you can more easily track conversations over time.

Tabs always stay synchronised with the main feed - whenever a new entry is posted, the relevant tab will immediately be updated with the new entry. You do not have to worry about whether you already have a tab opened for a particular user - if a tab for a user is open already, feedalizr will simply put the focus onto the already open tab if you click on the user’s icon.
In addition to tabs - the features keep coming
- we have extended our integration with Flickr.

You can now capture images directly from your web cam to flickr, using feedalizr!
Simply click the flickr icon, press start camera, press snap, and you are done - the picture can be uploaded straight to your Flickr account ! No doubt your imagination will supply endless uses for this
We look forward to getting your feedback! Subscribe to us on twitter, and follow us on feedalizr. Have fun!

The latest release of feedalizr adds the single most requested feature - resizing. Go ahead - try it
New in this release are tooltips - simply hover the mouse pointer over a button or icon to get more information.
We have implemented a number of hidden improvements - if your connection to the service is dropped, feedalizr will automatically re-establish the connection. Memory and resource consumption has once again been improved in this release - feedalizr runs leaner and meaner than ever.
For the technically minded - because feedalizr is pure ActionScript, and not a “wrapped website” we have been able to continuously improve memory management and CPU utilisation by optimising the feedalizr code.
And finally - this is the bit we like best - hover you mouse over a user’s icon, and information about that user’s services and subscriptions will appear. Of course everything is clickable. This feature makes it much easier to discover interesting feeds, and to pinpoint the services your friends use. This is what it looks like.

Enjoy - and as always, give us your feedback, and keep up to date with what we are doing.

Just a quick note - we did an emergency release of feedalizr - version 1.1.2 alpha. The reason was that we found a bug that occurred on some Apple hardware … we will follow up with a post detailing the issue, but for now - rest assured that you can continue to use feedalizr!
We’ve been getting a lot of positive feedback from our users - here are a couple of the blog posts we really liked - thank girls and guys!
Corvida of shegeek spotted us early, and stayed with us.
Orli of Go2Web2.0 had this to say, and The Inquisitr and downloadsquad added to our joy
This release of feedalizr is particularly focused on addressing some of the issue our users pointed out to us, and of course adding a few new features. We have added comment folding - only the first few comments will now be displayed. You can now also select comments and text. Imaginary friends are displayed correctly in this version. Have a look at the changelog page for the details of the fixes and improvements we have made.
Of course we have added some new features in this release - if you are fortunate enough to have a Jaiku account, you can now post directly to Jaiku from the feedalizr interface.
We will be adding a significant number of new features in the next few releases - look out for support for even more services, as well as an improved and extended user interface - we will make it possible for you to be more interactive, and to manage your feeds in the most effective and fun way possible.
The team would like to have your feedback … and here is the place to do so.

You’ve waited a while for a new release of Feedalizr, but here it is version 1.1.0!
There are some major changes. First up, the design has undergone a total overhaul. You can also now upload images directly from your desktop to your flickr account, and we have enhanced the display of images in your feed.
But the most exciting thing we have added (we think so anyway!) is feedalizr video. Post a video directly into the feedalizr application and we will make sure that it reaches all of the people that subscribe to your friendfeed. To find your online feed of video is easy; just go to
http://www.feedalizr.com/videos/user/Friendfeed Nickname or, to view the entire stream of feedalizr videos, go to http://www.feedalizr.com/videos/
We have huge plans for video and, of course, feedalizr as a whole.
It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t think it’s great, but we’d love to hear what you have to say about our new look and features. So please let us know think.

We’re working hard on the next release of feedalizr and this should be available in the next few days. Thanks to everyone for your feedback - the only way we can constantly improve is through your comments!

The new release of feedalizr has been made available. There are some significant improvements in this version. The first of these is that we have fixed an annoying memory leak : feedalizr now consumes minimal memory and cpu resources, and is still a very small download.
The most visible enhancement in this version of feedalizr is the implementation of a new filter mechanism. Using the filter you can easily filter posts by either user or service. We believe that this mechanism gives you greater flexibility in managing your feeds, than the sorting mechanism we had in place earlier.
As an aside - having recently upgraded to Hardy Heron (the latest and greatest release of Ubuntu) I can confirm that feedalizr does work on this release of Ubuntu. Because Adobe AIR (which provides the engine for feedalizr) is still in an alpha release for Linux, you can expect to find the occasional problem, but in general feedalizr does work.
Enjoy, and do not hesitate to contact us with your suggestions!

Watch this space….feedalizr version 1.0.2 will be available here within a very few hours, minutes even. We will follow the release with a longer post on the new features.
